Accuntability means standing up for my actions. Meaning whatever i may do, i am accountable for whatever that brings about. In my life and the lives of those affected by my behavior.
Had a sponsor who once told me that we may not be 100% responsible for our actions, while using or clean, but in recovery I had to be 100% accountable. Really allowed me a way to find freedom from alot of guilt fro actions while using and a path that helped me grow a little integrety. This in no way allowed me to use it as an out when it came to ammending behavior and making thigs right with others, just allowed me to see that when using i really became an irresponsible person- not a bad one...
Not a dictionary definition, just one that has worked well for me.

One word for taking personal responsibility for the consquences in my life.

One of my favorite guitar riffs and lyrics played by Led Zeppilin was a mantra to me in my early recovery and I still love it. It doesn't sound so good on youtube as my stereo with the remastered version but still enjoyable to me and I've played it in my head sometimes amnt times a day to remind me of the truth....it is nobody's fault but mine. Recovery can be fun and truth comes in many packages. :)
